Every Tribe Every Nation represents a unique alliance of the largest Bible agencies in the world. Where, in other settings, these organizations might produce their own digital repositories, the members of the Every Tribe Every Nation alliance recognize the power of working together to share God’s Word with the world. Collectively, they have more than 500 years of experience and are involved in 90 percent of all translation work being done globally—giving Every Tribe Every Nation incredible capacity to make Scripture available in every heart language for every person on earth.
The alliance was founded by a few donors and Bible translation agencies: American Bible Society / United Bible Societies, Biblica, SIL International / Seed Company / Wycliffe. Over the time, more agencies joined the alliance. Now, there are ten ministry partners: American Bible Society, Biblica, Deaf Bible Society, Lutheran Bible Translators, Pioneer Bible Translators, SIL International, The Seed Company, The Word For The World, United Bible Societies, Wycliffe.
American Bible Society
Since 1816, American Bible Society has worked to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so all people may experience its life-changing message. One of the nation’s first and most enduring ministries, today’s American Bible Society provides resources across a variety of platforms, enabling first-time readers and seasoned theologians alike to engage with the bestselling book of all time.
Biblica
Biblica, The International Bible Society, has ministered for more than 200 years with the Bible to ensure people around the world have the opportunity to be transformed by Jesus Christ. Biblica’s primary ministry plan includes Bible translation, access, and engagement — all coordinated and accomplished through ministry partners with reach in every country around the world.
Deaf Bible Society
Deaf Bible Society believes the Gospel is truly for all people, including the Deaf, and that they have a right to access a Bible in their language, resulting in personal community with God and His people. The organization accomplishes this by developing locally sustainable sign language ecosystems in which Deaf people can lead and develop ministry resources to translate the Bible into their local sign language and effectively engage their own communities.
Lutheran Bible Translators
Lutheran Bible Translators was formed as an independent Lutheran mission agency in 1964. Missionaries and staff serve with the vision of God’s Word for Every Language as a realized theological reality and future mission goal by partnering in Bible translation and related ministries with local churches and Bible agencies, that many might hear through their own languages and receive the gift of their salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Pioneer Bible Translators
Pioneer Bible Translators bridges the gap between the Church and the Bibleless people around the world. The team is composed of Bible translators, literacy evangelists, church planters and a variety of support personnel working to see transformed lives through God’s Word in every language. The organization serves 38 million people in 78 language projects in 19 countries.
SIL International
SIL International believes the Bible translated clearly, naturally and accurately into a language that speaks to the heart provides a powerful means for experiencing God’s blessing and wholeness. SIL works alongside ethnolinguistic communities and partners to harness the power of language to address challenges communities face — social, cultural, political, economic and spiritual. SIL staff serve as researchers, trainers, literacy consultants and translation advisers, viewing their work as spiritual service.
Seed Company
Seed Company was founded to see Bible poverty end within our lifetime, knowing that Bible translation transforms lives that come into contact with God’s Word in their heart language. Seed Company’s mission is to accelerate Scripture translation and impact for people without God’s Word through Great Commission partnerships. Its vision is to help the global Church reach the remaining 1 billion people who do not have full access to God’s Word.
The Word For The World
The Word For The World trains and empowers people to translate the entire Bible for their own people and to take responsibility for all aspects of Bible translation. The organization partners with others to ensure availability and accessibility of newly translated Scripture in all appropriate media, and to promote literacy and Scripture engagement where needed.
United Bible Societies
United Bible Societies is a network of Bible Societies operating in over 200 countries and territories in pursuit of the shared vision of The Bible for Everyone. We are working toward the day when everyone can access the Bible in the language and medium of their choice. To fulfill this mission, UBS works with all churches and is active in all areas of the Bible Lifecycle— from translation, publishing and distribution, to advocacy, engagement and ministry.
Wycliffe Bible Translators, USA
Wycliffe Bible Translators, USA helps people around the world translate the Bible into their own languages. Over the past 75 years, they have also helped with language development, literacy and other spiritual and physical needs. Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress for every language still needing one by 2025.
